The name doesn’t lie – this flavorful soup is spicy and completely satisfying. It also offers up anti-breast cancer properties thanks to fiber- and protein-rich black beans. In addition, the cayenne pepper in my Savory Sizzle power spice nutrition blend adds a kick, and studies show that it may rev up metabolism and help you burn more body fat. I like to top this cozy bowl with extra herbs or some sliced avocado for additional flavor and healthful fat. Can’t argue with that!
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups cooked black beans; no salt added
1 1/2 teaspoon Savory Sizzle spice blend
Medium head of cauliflower, chopped
6 cups low-sodium vegetable broth
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
Directions:
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and saute for 3 to 5 minutes, until softened. Add the beans, spice blend, cauliflower, and broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 10 to 15 minutes, until the veggies are tender. Carefully pour the soup into a high-powered blender and puree until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
